Following his foundational medical education, Dr. Kumar dedicated several years to intensive postgraduate training across multiple continents and academic traditions. He continued his studies at the University of Bombay before making a significant international move to the Royal College of Surgeons in the United Kingdom — an institution with a world-renowned reputation spanning over two centuries. This experience enriched Dr. Kumar with the highest standards of British surgical training and broadened his perspective through exposure to international medical practices.

The final and defining stage of his postgraduate preparation took place at Wayne State University in Michigan, USA, where he completed his specialized urology training. Wayne State’s robust medical programs and diverse clinical environment allowed him to gain comprehensive hands-on experience managing a wide range of urological conditions and complex cases.

His distinguished career in healthcare began at the prestigious Grant Medical College in Mumbai, India, where he earned his medical degree in 1981 and subsequently completed his clinical internship from 1981 to 1982. Seeking to expand his expertise with advanced global standards, Dr. Patel moved to the United States to pursue rigorous specialized postgraduate training. From July 1, 1986, to June 30, 1989, he completed an intensive residency and fellowship program at Nassau Hospital in Mineola and the VA Manhattan, which included a premier clinical rotation within the NYU Urology Residency network.

In his daily practice, Dr. Patel is committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
