Erectafil

Erectafil (tadalafil citrate) is a drug against erectile dysfunction (ED) administered orally in adult male patients. The drug is intended for occasional (on-demand) use and is taken prior to engaging in sexual activity. Taken according to instructions, Erectafil enables developing and maintaining erections of sufficient penetrative hardness for the period of time equal to 36 hours.

Erectafil contains tadalafil, the active substance that works by facilitating the expansion of blood vessels in the penile tissues. The drug inhibits phosphodiesterase type 5, the enzyme that is released after ejaculation in healthy individuals. This triggers the release of cyclic guanosine monophosphate and nitric oxide, the substances essential for blood absorption required for responding with erection towards sexual stimulation.

Following a sexual stimulus (physical or mental), nitrogen monoxide is produced which is released by the non-cholinergic, non-adrenergic nerve endings and by the endothelial cells of the penis. Nitrogen monoxide diffuses into smooth muscle cells and binds to the iron ion.

This link stimulates the production of cyclic guanosmonophosphate (cGMP) which, in turn, stimulates protein kinase G; this determines the phosphorylation of proteins that have the task of preventing the entry of calcium into the smooth muscle cell. Calcium reduction produces muscle relaxation and therefore dilation of the penile arteries with increased blood flow at the level of the corpora cavernosa, and subsequent erection.

The erection ends when the enzyme phosphodiesterase hydrolyzes cGMP. There are several phosphodiesterase isoforms. Type 5 phosphodiesterase plays a predominant role in the penis. From this it follows that various forms of ED can be treated by increasing the time of action of cGMP through the inhibition of phosphodiesterase type 5.

A pill of Erectafil is taken 15 minutes prior to sexual activity. The drug has a pleasant fruity flavor and is formulated to be chewed. The drug can be taken alongside meals and alcohol. The effect of tadalafil and lasts up to 36 hours.

Tadalafil is reported as a safe and well-tolerated medication with mild to moderate adverse events. In the course of studies that continued for a period of 24 months, discontinuation due to side effects was 6.3%. It should be noted that tadalafil features a low profile of side events and poses no danger for cardiac health.

Erectafil is manufactured by a certified pharmaceutical company with production facilities in India. The medication is manufactured in accordance with the Good Practice Guidelines and ISO 9000:2001 standards that ensure the use of high quality materials and following the norms required by international healthcare authorities.

Erectafil is available in a single dose of tadalafil 20mg. This dose is the maximal amount of tadalafil recommended for use during 24 hours. Care should be taken in patients with compromised liver or kidney function, as well as other known health problems.

Cialis and Erectafil alike contain tadalafil as their active substance, but the available dosage forms differ for the two analogous medications, as does a number of other parameters. Cialis is the brand name for tadalafil and the first trademark name for the preparation to have been released under since the day of its conception in 2003. The drug was developed, patented and manufactured by the American pharmaceutical company Eli Lilly. Erectafil is a product of the Indian company Unisule Pvt. Ltd. specializing in certified manufacture of generic drugs.

Unlike Cialis, which is available in doses that range between tadalafil 2.5mg and 20mg, Erectafil is only produced in the 20mg dosage. The form of Erectafil is chewable pills, whereas Cialis is produced in film-coated tablets. The soft-tablet drug form of Erectafil, as a matter of fact, is a part of an improved formula – the one for quicker absorption and a shorter response window. Erectafil effects can be expected to manifest themselves already 15 minutes after the intake.

Tadalafil long-term safety has been established in multiple studies. As a matter of fact, taken regularly, Erectafil can help restore erectile function completely. While Erectafil contains the maximal dose of tadalafil (20mg) intended for occasional use, other forms of tadalafil (2.5mg and 5mg) are appointed for daily use regardless of sexual activity. Taken as a course, the drug helps overcome ED and eventually retrieve the ability to achieve erectile hardness without the use of drugs. The safety of long-term use of Erectafil is clinically proven.

The side effects that can be expected with the use of Erectafil are mild and transient in their nature, and only a fraction of patients develops them. The most common side effects of Erectafil are:

• Facial flushing
• Diarrhea
• Stomach upset
• Stuffy / rheumy nose
• Back pain
• Unusual warmness of the skin
• Excessive urination
• Headache
• Vision disturbances
• Sleep disturbances
• Skin rash

These side effects are short-lived and tend to discontinue once your body adjusts to the effects of tadalafil.

In certain individuals, Erectafil can cause severe side effects (see the list below); if you experience any of the symptoms cited in the list that follows, report to the nearest ER or contact any other healthcare provider without delay:

• Irregular or increased heartbeat
• Vomiting, extreme nausea
• Syncope
• Edema of the face or lips
• Obstructed breathing
• Severe allergic reactions of the skin
• Erection that is painful or abnormally lasting

Neither of the above lists is complete; consult your healthcare provider or pharmacist for the full list of possible side effects, and request a dose adjustment if any of Erectafil side effects manifest themselves in a particularly bothersome or persistent manner.

Note that taking Erectafil on a full stomach can reduce the risk and intensity of adverse reactions towards the drug.

Erectafil is not intended for the use in pediatrics and females. The drug effects in pregnancy are unknown, the lack of data of tadalafil’s ability to affect unborn babies is absent; in this connection, the use of Erectafil in pregnancy and lactation is contraindicated.

Dose adjustment in the elderly should be required. The dose of tadalafil contained in Erectafil is considered maximal by many specialists, hence caution is urged for the use of Erectafil in patients with comorbidities and men aged 50 and above.

Erectafil should not be used in certain subcategories of patients. The drug is contraindicated for concomitant use with:

• Drugs against AIDS/HIV
• Drugs for high pressure
• Drugs for fungal infections
• Other ED drugs
• Certain antibiotics
• Certain heart drugs

Erectafil should not be taken by men suffering from:

• Severe liver or hepatic disorders
• Heart attack, congestive heart failure, stroke
• Diseases of the eye retina, crowded disc and NAION
• Priapism
• Peyronie’s disease
• Stomach or duodenum ulcer
• Sickle cell disease, leukemia, multiple myeloma
• Hyper- or hypotension
